Last Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch and this weekend we I carved them. I looked long and hard for patterns to use and really didn't have much luck. I wanted to find a cute one I could carve that would show Isaac's first Halloween I found a few but most seemed tough and hard to carve. I finally found one and I must say it turned out pretty good... well at least the second attempt did. The first attempt I botched it. Opps!

I put Isaac in the high chair so he could "help" and he lasted about 5 minutes before he got bored. I sure hope he likes to carve pumpkins when he's older.

Mommy... this is kinda boring. Can I go play instead?

It seriously took me forever to do Isaac's pumpkin. I had most of it carved before I screwed it up. I tried to fix it... for like 45 minutes with no luck. Finally I just decided to try again on another pumpkin. Can you tell which one is Isaac's?

See the middle pumpkin? The botched attempt is on the other side. Where did I botch it? The second E and the N. Yeah. I was pretty much done when I screwed it up. I almost cried... and swore a little and was really upset. I love my hubby though. He knew how important this whole first halloween pumpkin was so he gave me the idea to try again on anther pumpkin and just use the other of the "screwed up pumpkin" to do another face. Seem like a good idea and I'm not sure why I didn't think of it.

By the time I finished it was time for dinner and I didn't get a chance to really take any other photos. Today when I got home I dressed Isaac in his costume so I could take some photos. I plan to dress him up for Halloween on Wednesday and I won't have time before he heads to daycare. I knew if I waited to take the photos after daycare on Wednesday he'd have a blow out in his diaper. I had fun taking pictures of Isaac in his costume. I didn't really want to go all out on his costume because he's really just going to be sitting around. We aren't going to any parties or trick or treating. I found his costume used and paid $6.50 for it. Enjoy the photos of my little man!
