Weekend at the Grandparents!

WARNING: Picture overload!

Friday went by really fast. I had some training at work that made the day go by fast. I was not looking forward to the drive to my parents. Isaac is used to being awake and being very active in the evenings. I knew being confided to a carseat for over 2 hours would be challenging. Everything started out fine.

But after about an hour of driving Isaac started crying screaming. We stopped for a stretch break and I changed his diaper. Shortly after we got on the road again he feel asleep for a little while.  It was about 8ish when we got to my parents. Isaac does this thing when he doesn't remember people or is around people he doesn't recognize. He looks something like this.

Who are these people!

We ate dinner quick while Isaac sat in the high chair. Crazy thing about that high chair... My brother, sister and I all used it when we were little. My aunt, uncle and dad also used it. So that thing is over 60 year old!

Isaac is pretty amazing. It never fails that he knows its the weekend. He always sleeps in. We got up at 8am. He ate, played a little, took some food from Grandma and then took a two hour nap.

Shortly after that my Uncle came to visit. Isaac did not do the lip like he did above. We think that he looks so much like my dad that he thought it was grandpa. Isaac even let my uncle hold him. Then my dad came into the room and Isaac gave him the lip. He also kept looking at my uncle and then at my dad.

In the afternoon on Saturday my mom and I went shopping. The boys had babysitting duty.

Time to play!
In the evening a good friend came to visit. We played games and enjoyed a few beverages after Isaac went to sleep. Isaac didn't give her the lip either. I think he has a crush on her.

I was super worried about "Fall Back" but Isaac slept in... again. He slept in until 8 (which to him was 9).  He was awake for a few hours then took a long nap. We snapped a few photos before heading to lunch.

Hi Grandpa!

We had lunch then hit the road. It was the first time we put Isaac in the high chair at a restaurant. He had fun!

I think I'll have the chocolate sundae please.

Grandpa!
I didn't think the car ride would be to terrible. I thought that Isaac would sleep for some of it. Boy was I wrong. He did okay for the first hour then he started screaming. He was tired of being in the car seat and he was hungry. He got himself so worked up that it took awhile to calm him down so that he could nurse. I nursed him at the far end of large parking lot. We started driving and he was okay for about 30 minutes before he started screaming again. The only thing that calmed him down was giving him my cell phone. Yeah crazy. He may have sent a few emails and made a few phone calls.

We spent the evening playing and crying (well Isaac anyway) and I ended up putting him to bed early. This was mainly due to the time change and the fact he didn't get a good nap during the afternoon. He was really upset and cranky. I think he was upset that he couldn't watch the vikings and then when he could they were playing terrible and it made him really unhappy.

Isaac did something pretty amazing this weekend. Okay well he did two pretty amazing things. He sat up all my himself. I've shown pictures of him sitting before. But this weekend he went from laying on his tummy to pushing himself up and into a sitting position. He also has crawling backwards down pat. It's kinda funny because he sees something he wants in front of him and he manages to move himself backwards rather quickly. Then he gets frustrated because he's getting farther away from the object.

Even with Isaac's sporadic crankiness we still had a great weekend. Tomorrow Isaac is 8 months old!  Crazy how time flies!

Tell me about your weekend!
