So I had meant to do this post yesterday because Isaac turned two months old on May 5, but it was a busy day and I ran out of time. I did manage to take some photos and I am finally able to sit down and get a post going.

Isaac's schedule is still pretty sporadic and he still wakes me up usually twice a night and sometimes if I'm lucky just once. During the day I try to keep him up after feeding for a bit before he goes down for a nap but that can be a challenging sometimes because he still gets so sleepy.  He doesn't really have a set schedule for when he eats. It's different times everyday which makes it challenging to try and get things done or to step up any type of routine. I'm not saying that I want him to always eat at this time everyday or that time but I do wish that he ate around the same times everyday.  I think if we had some type of routine during the daytime that he would sleep for longer periods at night. But I just don't know how to make that happen especially since he still needs to pack on the pounds. While he's done great with his weight gain the last two months he still has a long way to go before he's caught up. I know he will get there but I really hope that we don't need to continue to do night feedings forever. It can get overwhelming at times and I often wonder how in the world I am going to be able to do multiple feedings in one night and work full time.

As I already stated Isaac has done great with his weight gain. He continues to gain every week and he's really starting to fill out. I look back at his birth photos and he looks so sick and skinny. I can really see his progress when I look at photos which is exciting.

Birthday 3/5
2 Months old. 5/5. Yep he's got an outtie!

I mentioned that Isaac still sleeps a lot but in the last month he has started to be awake more which is exciting. He's also starting to smile more. We are still working on holding his head up. He's not strong enough to sit in his bumbo chair but I think he's getting close. I can tell he's starting to be interested in the world around him and exploring with his eyes.

I have to remind myself that he's a preemie and it may and likely will take him longer to do some things like sleep for longer periods at night or hold his head up on his own. In reality he's not even "a month old" yet. But it can be hard sometimes.
