My little preemie turned 9 months old on Wednesday. Hard to believe he's 9 months old already. I think I say that every month. He wasn't very happy about turning 9 months old.

Isaac is crawling. But you already knew that. But boy has he gotten fast. He has really taken off with the crawling. It's so cute to watch him. He loves crawling towards hubby and me. One time when I was having a bad day at work I went to go see him on my lunch (his daycare is only a block from my work so i'll go see him from time to time) and when he saw me in the doorway he got a big smile and crawled towards me. It totally turned my day around. He's also been playing and decided he needed a little snack. So he crawled toward mommy, nursed, then crawled away to resume playing. It kinda reminded me of a gas station. Come in, fill up, leave. haha! He loves crawling towards the cats. Especially Link. I swear that cat has a high tolerance!

Isaac is trying to pull himself up but hasn't done it yet. He can stand if I put him there but not on his own. I am sure that is close and will happen this month. He gets close but then gets unsure of himself.
It won't be long before I am told that is time to transition Isaac to the next room at daycare. He is currently in the non-mobile infant room. Being that he is rather mobile now it's only a matter of time. There are a lot of other crawling babies in the room though. So we'll see. He's not the oldest kido but I think he's one of the oldest kidos that goes full time.
We had Isaac's 9 month check up this week. He is 29 inches long, which puts him at the 58th percentile for height!!! How exciting! He weighs 17 lbs 1 oz. He's at 4 percentile for weight. No concern there. Isaac has been gaining weight and that's all that matters. He's gained almost 14 pounds in 9 months. I daresay that's pretty incredible. His doctor would like to see him at the 25 percentile by his 1 year check up but I didn't think to ask what his weight would need to be to hit that. It just goes to show you I'm not concerned I guess.
We got the ok to feed him things like eggs and baby yogurt. We also talked about how Dan and I would like to feed Isaac. You guessed it... a mostly vegetarian diet. He will have meat sometimes but for the most part we'd like him to have a mostly vegetarian diet. Dan eats meat sometimes. I never eat it. Our thought is when Dan feeds him he can choose to feed him meat if he wants. When I feed Isaac I won't feed it to him. When Isaac is old enough he will be able to choose what he wants. His doctor fully supported our decision as long as we make sure to feed him vegetables high in protein. He also supported nursing as long as I would like. I've heard some doctors try to get you to stop after a year. While I haven't fully decided when I want to stop nursing it's nice to know I would be supported even if I decide to go longer than a year.
Isaac loves watching the Vikings. Hopefully he can see them win more than a handful of games some season. Maybe when he's 85.

There is some... maybe not so good news... The doctor was concerned about some wheezing in his chest. He's concerned that Isaac may have asthma. He also said that asthma isn't usually diagnosed in children until they are about 3 years old. He also asked if Isaac coughs a lot and if he ever gets coughing spells in the middle of the night. Yep. Seems like he always has a cold. He occasionally gets bad coughing spells at night. Because he does go to daycare he of course gets a lot of colds. He has one right now in fact. The good thing is Isaac doesn't seem to be bothered to much by his cough and when he has the coughing spells he doesn't really wake up from it. The wheezing could be caused by his cold too or the fact that he is still young and bronchi's might not be fully developed and that is what causes the wheezing. Long story short.... He wants us to try a nebulizer when the coughing gets bad. He said a good time to use it would be at night. He said that it would help Isaac sleep better and when I told him he already sleeps great he said that we didn't have to use it unless we thought he needed it. We plan to get it and use it when he has coughing spells. I did find out that asthma is in our family history (on Dan's side) so it is concerning but I am trying not to worry about it.
His next check up will be when he is ONE YEAR OLD! CRAAAAAZY!
