The day seemed to drag on Friday. I felt like it would never end. Finally 4:30 rolled around and I went to get Isaac. The daycare does a pretty good job of keeping track of lots of things while Isaac is there. Including naps. The second I saw his lack of naps I was super bummed out because I knew it was going to be a rough evening. And by rough I mean he'd want to sleep rather than spend time with grandma and grandpa. He probably slept a total of 2 hours. Normally he sleeps an average of 3 or 4. He also almost always naps in the late afternoon and when I picked him up at 4:30 he had been awake since 2:10pm. He did fall asleep for the 10 minute car ride but woke up as soon as I got home. Plus the grandparents were excited to see him.
We spent an hour or so catching up and playing with Isaac and when it came time for supper (for Isaac) I let my mom aka grandma feed him. Yes we use the Bumbo and yes it is on the table. But its the only thing that works right now for feeding him. I never leave his side when he is in it (also notice my arm/hand). We also got the belt they made for it. The seats were actually recalled because of safety issues. Bumbo came out with a belt that you could get for free. I ordered it last week and it actually came yesterday.
I love me some sweet potatoes! |
Looking at Grandpa as he snaps photos. |
Oh by the way. Grandparents visiting = date night for mommy and daddy. Dan and I went to dinner and then went to Target. Yes we went to Target on date night. If you are a parent you understand this is huge. Being able to go somewhere with no baby = much more relaxing. Dan and I took Isaac to Sam's Club last weekend. He started screaming within seconds of entering the store. We had to carry him around. I had regret that I didn't have the moby, which I rarely use anyway.
You'd think that grandparents visiting would also mean a run for me. But not today (but there will be one tomorrow). We spent the morning relaxing. I ran some errands with my mom and Isaac spent time with grandpa.
Normally I don't like taking naps on anyone... but this is GRANDPA! |

Daddy let me hold the bottle! |
Don't ask me how I did this but somehow I convinced my mom to do my laundry. So I got to hang out with Isaac on the couch. I think it's crazy how dark my hair is in the picture. I used to be blond. Like really blond. At least I can admit that i'm not really blond anymore. The same thing happened to my mom. She used to have white blond hair and it turned darker as she got older. I can remember being in high school and her trying to convince everyone that she had blond hair.

Isaac tried a new veggie. Peas. I think he liked it.... unless you could screaming uncontrollably after about 5 minutes as not liking it.
Peas!! |
No really I think he DID like the peas. He took several spoonfuls before he started screaming. It had been over three hours since he ate the last time and he had just gotten up from a nap. I think he realized he wanted milk instead of the peas. We'll give a day rest from the peas and try them again on Monday. Normally Isaac isn't "asking" for food when I give him his veggie. But today he was.
For dinner I had lentil burgers. See below. I actually made them last week too. The were good and easy to make so I made them again this week. I plan to share the recipe... eventually.
Tomorrow I plan to run 6 miles and spend the morning with grandma and grandpa before starting the week. It's hard to believe that it's almost September!
