Sorry mom... i'm to busy watching whats going on the TV. |
He tried rice cereal and likes it. It took him about two weeks before he figured out what he was suppose to do. He still spits it out on occasion but overall he has done really well. So well in fact that we will be trying veggies very soon. I have plans to try making some carrots today. I am planning on trying the carrots in a few days.
Isaac sleeps through the night most nights. He does occasionally wake up in the middle of the night but either Dan or I give him his pacifier and he's fast asleep. I had heard somewhere that if you give a baby a pacifier when you put them down they will wake up looking for the pacifier and get upset when its not there. I tried last week to put him down without the pacifier (because he was half asleep anyway) and he was up every two hours. So yeah. Pacifier it is because he sleeps better. Our little guy has always been a good sleeper and can fall asleep pretty much anywhere. He can sleep through most sounds. We've had a few thunderstorms... loud ones and he hasn't made a peep. His bedtime changed this month too. I decided to change this because Isaac was still so sleepy in the morning when it was time to get up and get ready for daycare. We bumped it to 8pm for now and honestly... I think he would do well if he went down between 7-7:30 but it's not ideal with Dan's schedule because he doesn't get home until around 7 on most days. We are lucky that he is such a good little sleeper. We always put him in his crib when he's still awake and I think that has helped. On most nights he'll sleep from 8pm-6pm with sometimes waking up earlier and sometimes (on weekends only) a little later. Like I said.... we are lucky to have such a good little sleeper that likes to take naps and sleep at night. As far as naps go. We don't really have set times. We put him down when he seems sleepy. We also let him sleep anywhere he falls asleep when it comes to naps.

Isaac laughed for the first time. He's done it a few times this month but boy does he make us work for it. He is such a happy little boy with his constant smiles that I can't believe he doesn't laugh more. We get lots of tiny little giggles but not a lot of belly laughs. His smiles always melt my heart. One of my favorite things is to put Isaac in front of a mirror because he loves smiling at himself. I am not sure if he knows its him or not because sometimes he gets bashful or shy when he sees himself.
Isaac has started to realize when I leave the room. Sometimes i'll go in the other room and he'll start crying. He stops when I come back in the room. There are also times when others are holding him and he starts to cry. Then when he's passed to me he stops. He's a mama's boy thats for sure.
Isaac hasn't rolled over yet. He is super close though. He can get to his side and he tries so so soooo hard to get to his belly but he just isn't there yet. I know its going to happen soon. He is gets really frustrated when he tries. He wants to roll over so bad. He's a good mover though. Every single morning we find Isaac at the opposite end of the crib. Sometimes even rotated 180 degrees. Please excuse the darkness of this photo. I didn't want to turn the light on.

He started that the other end of the crib. |
Isaac is growing like a weed. Most of his 0-3 month clothing no longer fit. I packed up most of the 0-3 clothing and took out the 3-6 month clothing. Hard to believe such a short time ago that NEWBORN clothing was to BIG for him.
Last weekend... maybe two weekends ago we put together a new toy for Isaac. He really likes it and I think he'll love it even more as he continues to grow into it. We put a few books under his feet so he can reach the floor. But someone gave me the idea to try a blanket or pillow and that seems to work better.

I'm not so sure about this. |
When I put Isaac in the jumperoo this morning he leaned forward (has never done that before) and started sucking on the fabric.

Mmmm I want to chew on some fabric. |
I look forward to see what the next month will bring. I will be sad to write the next month update though because that will mean Isaac will be half a year old and thats just nuts!
